Step into the stillness of Sherwood Forest and discover the ancient practice of Shinrin-yoku—known in English as Forest Bathing.
This gentle, mindful experience invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the natural world.
I’m Jo Aylwin, a Nottingham resident and a qualified Forest Bathing Guide with the Forest Bathing Institute. My journey into guiding was born from a deep love of nature and a desire to share its healing power with others.
Living close to Sherwood Forest, one of Britain’s most historic and enchanting woodlands, I felt called to create a space where people could release stress, quiet the mind, and restore balance through the simple act of being in nature.
Forest Bathing isn’t exercise or hiking—it’s a mindful, sensory walk where I gently guide you to slow down and connect with the sights, sounds, and textures of the forest. Research shows that time spent in woodland reduces stress hormones, lowers anxiety, boosts immunity, and supports overall wellbeing.
Whether you’re seeking calm in a busy life, looking for natural ways to manage stress, or simply curious about mindfulness in nature, I invite you to join me in Sherwood Forest. Together, we’ll step away from distractions and discover the grounding peace that trees and nature so freely offer.
